Political Album Features Prince, Andre 3000

Hidden Beach Recordings has paired with bestselling author and political activist Dr. Cornel West to release Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations, a socially conscious music project that touches on volatile issues like racial profiling, “government deception” and the “N-word.”

For the album, Hidden Beach’s first release on its new Hidden Beach Forum label, West’s indignant commentary is backed by artists like Prince, Andre 3000, Jill Scott and the Roots’ Black Thought.

West is a Religion professor at Princeton University and author of the 1993 New York Times Bestseller, Race Matters.

The track list for Never Forget, due out June 19, is as follows:

1 - "Bushanomics," featuring Talib Kweli
2 - "America," featuring Black Thought, Rah Digga, Iriz & Lucky Witherspoon
3 - "Still Here"
4 - "Dear Mr. Man," featuring Prince
5 - "911"
6 - "N Word," featuring Tavis Smiley & Michael Eric Dyson
7 - "Welcome to Chi," featuring Rhymefest, Neo-Abassy & Malik Yosef
8 -"Mr. President," featuring KRS-One & M-1
9 - "Keep It PI," featuring Killer Mike, Doey, Roc & Lucky Witherspoon
10 - "Chronometrophobia," featuring Andre 3000
11 - "Gonne Be Alright," featuring Dave Hollister & Chuckii Booker

Excellent !

Un petit up :

- Le papier de vibrationsmusic.ch

- 2 extraits

- Release note : Of the most exciting features on the album is the song
"Dear Mr. Man" with Prince. Yes, Prince. The song is a
throwback to Prince during his days of publicly
expressing his dislike against his label by writing
the word "Slave" on his cheek. While it has nothing to
do with the record industry (specifically), the
message is rooted in Prince's funky way of using his
electric guitar to get any point across. "Dear Mr.
Man, we don't understand why folks keep struggling,
but you don’t lend a helping hand." The smoother than
smooth horns and snare beat will give you goose bumps
yet hold you just long enough to get a message to your
ears.es
