I must say first off that my French is NOT so good. I do live in Paris, though. I call myself "bodhinature" while on line. I'm American and a Prince fan. Ralphy, I think I last saw you at the bash you gave on the 20th of July. It was very good. I would to practice my French with anyone who has the time. Si Powers veux apprendre le français, le forum est rempli de posts dans cette langue... Alors un peu d'anglais, c'est pas la mer à boire...

En tout cas j'suis épatée comme il maîtrise notre langue (au moins en compréhension... doit on y voir anguille sous roche )

There's a loss when you don't understand the lyrics, that's for sure, but that doesn't mean you can't dig his music .

Bon aller je vais juste ouvrir une toute petite parenthèse :

Peu importe que Prince soit blanc ou noir, francophone ou anglosaxon.

Parce que j'aime un artist d'origine américaine alors je devrais m'intéressé à sa langue? voir même parler cette langue? et bien non je suis désolé sinon je serais déjà bilingue.

Par contre ce qui me pose problème et je le vois tous les jours (rien à voir avec POWERS) c'est que dès qu'on doit cotoyer un américain ou un anglais et bien on doit parler sa langue. Meme si cette personne fait un séjour en France. Un petit exemple : au travail il y a souvent des anglais qui vienne et bien il refuse de parler français !!

Pour ma part lorsque je part en vacances je fais cette effort

Alors je suis désolé Corinne peu importe que je sois fatigué mais c'est juste une marque de respect d'essayer de parler notre langue et d'ailleur à ce propos un amércain de la list faisait cette effort dans le passé.

Certains me diront : "oui mais l'anglais c'est la langue internationnal" peut etre mais faut il une personne qui a du mal à écrire le français ou bien plusieurs qui comprenne pas l'anglais (ou pas très bien) ?

Je dois surement avoir des principes à la con mais je me vois mal poster des posts en français sur des forums anglais ou espagnol

Je suis assez stockché de ce qu'a dit POWERS, ou sinon mon anglais est vraiement très mauvais ce qui est aussi fort probable.

Entierement d'accord! moi aussi à mon boulot on voit beaucoup d'anglais et d'américain, et rare sont ceux qui font l'effort de parler notre langue. Je dois dire que pour ma part je me débrouille pas mal en anglais, j'arrive à tenir tant bien que mal une conversation et ça me dérange pas de parler dans cette langue avec des étrangers, mais (et vous allez peut-être me dire que je suis pas gentil) seulement quand je vois qu'il font l'effort d'essayer de se faire comprendre en français, auquel cas je leur parle en anglais pour qu'ils soient plus à l'aise...
Pour en revenir à Prince, je ne crois pas qu'il soit indispensable de comprendre sa langue pour l'apprécier, je dois dire que c'est grâce à lui que je me suis mis à l'anglais, mais au tout début je ne comprenais rien et ça ne me dérangeais pas du tout, au contraire, les paroles étaient pour moi comme un instrument, et je dirais même que certaines chansons ont perdu de leur charme quand j'ai commencé à les comprendre, et je crois que je ne suis pas le seul...
