"The Stones kicked off their 50 & Counting shows tonight in their hometown of London, at a packed o2 Arena where 20000 delirious fans danced and stomped their way through a night to remember. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie celebrated in style and delivered a 2 hour plus set with all the hits taken from every decade of their career plus the two new stand out track – ‘One More Shot’ and ‘Doom And Gloom’.
‘Honky Tonk Women’, ‘Start Me Up’, ‘Miss You’, ‘Tumbling Dice’, ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Gimme Shelter’ had the crowd on its feet from the first note to the last.
Mick delighted the sell out crowd by dancing and singing his away across the stunning and massive Tongue and Lips stage, whilst Keith was effortlessly cool turning out his trademark licks. Ronnie added killer riffs while the ever-reliable Charlie drove the band on throughout.
Special guests included former band-mates Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor plus guitar hero Jeff Beck and R&B superstar Mary J. Blige.
The encores of ‘Sympathy For The Devil’, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ and ‘Jumping Jack Flash’ sent everyone home stunned by the spectacle of the Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band in the World, back where they belong, on stage and rocking the night away."
